Jermaine Sharpe is best known as a humble, professional and energetic self-taught Photographer & Videographer. Majoring in Communications with a concentration in Broadcasting, he initially took an interest in photography in college. Apart from his studies, much of his time was focused on playing basketball. He was fortunate to play not only at a college level but also Semi-Pro and Professional levels where he was accustomed to being in front of the camera rather then behind it. It was soon thereafter that he found his passion and here’s his story…
It wasn’t until he attended an event with a friend that he had his first taste at what would eventually become his passion. As many people do, they often become stuck – playing host while also wearing many other hats including “photographer”. Sharpe, seeing an opportunity to lend a hand, offered his assistance – photographing the entire night, and was hooked!
What happened next, however, was completely unexpected! His friend paid him for helping and then called him the next day, impressed, asking him to photograph at an event the very next week! He then went on to photograph all of his events – eventually purchasing his own equipment to pursue his newfound love full time.
Now, more then 6 years later, his natural talent has grown to capture night life for multiple promoters and venues, expanded immensely to include: Wedding Photography, Special Events, Products, Real Estate, Modeling, Family and more.
“I love every moment of it! I never want to be someone who takes predictable, ordinary (boring) images. I ask myself after every shot, ‘Are they happy?’ and if so, I’m happy. Each experience gives me the opportunity to create a memory that will forever pull on the heart strings of any person that views them.
