Photography Etiquette

SharpeShooter Etiquette

Your experience should be unforgettable and we realize that first-timers may not know what to expect when hiring a photographer.  Below are some guidelines to consider to ensure your appointment goes smoothly.

Arrive Early

  • Be sure to arrive a few minutes early to your appointment.  This is especially important for location shoots and groups.  This allows you to the extra time to ask questions and to get yourself and everyone in place for your shoot.
  • Your time is scheduled just for you!  Arriving late will cut into your photography time.  Because there may be others scheduled after you, we unfortunately may not be able to extend your time.

Be Ready to Go

  • Arriving fully dressed and ready to go ensures you get the most out of your scheduled time.  While some more intricate shoots may require outfit and even make-up changes, for those who are keeping it fairly simple, you will want to make the most of your time arriving ready to go.

Children’s Photography

  • Children are often full of energy but this can change for the younger ones if they haven’t already had their nap.  Unless you desire photos of your sleeping newborn, scheduling long before or right after nap time when their spirits are highest may be best.

No Fans or Additional Paparazzi Please

  • Our job is to make this experience a great one! It can be extremely distracting if there are unnecessary people present in the studio or at the shoot location.

Rescheduling

  • When changing or rescheduling a photo shoot, we ask that you call a minimum of 72 hours in advance.

Cancelling

  • When canceling your appointment, those cancelling within 2-weeks (14 days) or more will receive a full refund of their deposit.
  • Those cancelling with 1-week notice (7-13 days), will receive a gift certificate equal to the amount of their deposit to use on future services.
  • Those cancelling with less than 1-week notice (6 days or less) will forfeit their deposit.

Your Proofs

  • We know that making a decision on which photos to choose can be hard.  Clients will have 30 days to review their proofs and to respond with their selections for editing.
  • Regular editing pricing of $10 per photo applies to anyone going beyond 30 day proofing time.
